Bogart SE 5 User manual
If you have saved the audio data on a USB medium, such as
a USB stick, you should connect the stick to a free USB port.
You should then select the USB option. The software will now
look for USB devices and the results will be shown in a list.
Select your USB medium.
If you want to import audio via the network or via UPnP, the
software will look for any sources and list those found. Once
you have selected the source, you should import them with
OK, Add. The difference with the normal OK is the following.
OK is used to list the contents of the medium that were already
known from the last import. This does not include changes on
the medium. This way, there is no new reading time, which can
be quite long if there are lots of files. If you had not read this
medium before or if it had been changed since the last time,
you must ‘import new’.
Regardless of the medium you want to import your music data
from, the data contained on the medium will be listed in the list
on the left side with the corresponding file names.
The titles are displayed with their length in the list on the left -
they have not yet been imported! In the top part of the screen,
you will also be shown the name of the album, the artist and
the total length of the titles.
The buttons P+ and P- or a direct selection in the list with the
trackball, can be used to navigate through the list. Use OK
to add the selected titles to the list (already selected) on the
right. During import, the system automatically checks if the
file already exists in the archives. If this is the case, there will
be a colored marking in the ‘already selected’ list. If the title is
the same, but all other information not, the item will be shown
in yellow. If the title, album and length are the same, it will be
shown in red. Use the Info button to retrieve information stored
on the CD with respect to the selected title, if it is available.
In order to delete a piece form the list, select it using the up
and down directional buttons and click the red heart button.
If you insert a normal audio CD, you can click the Options
button to select the storage format. This will open a selector in
which you can choose between the leaving the file unchanged
and the space-saving MP3 format (in three quality settings:
high, medium and low). If you have made your choice, close
the selector and the window by clicking on OK. To store the
selected titles in the list on the right on the hard disk, press the
7 key (Import). This will open the CD Import Progress windows,
in which you can see how far the import process has pro-
gressed. For example, when you see 1/10 in the top part, this
means that the system is currently importing track 1 of 10. The
bottom line displays the title that is currently being imported,
and the bar shows you the progress of the import. If you only
want to import all new titles (that have not yet been imported
so far), you should click on the 8 button. Selection and impor-
tation occurs automatically, in order to avoid titles being im-
ported twice into the device. To import all titles includes on the
would like to re-import the movie, you should put the DVD
in the drive, and select the relevant entry in the option of the
movie archives.
The assembled lists can also be erased in the Options menu,
and the display of your archives can be sorted or filtered.
After selecting the options, you should start the export, by
clicking on the DVD button. The data will then be stored on the
medium. As a rule, this will lead to a data conversion accord-
ing to the options that have been set.
7.2.2.6 Renaming imported lms
In order to rename imported films and specify text required for
filter settings, mark the desired movie in the archives and click
the ‘Text aA’ button.
In order to rename recorded movies and specify text required
for filter settings, mark the desired movie in the archives and
click the ‘Help, more functions’ buttons, followed by ‘aA’. This
calls up a window in which several filter categories can be
seen. To change a text or to enter a new one, click the relevant
button in order to call up a menu for entering text. You can
now delete the entry with the Recording button and enter it
again or correct the title. You can also do this with the other
text entries.
You can also change the genre and other parameters in this
fashion.
The more your archives are organized from the start, the easier
you will be able to find particular films later. Think about mean-
ingful terms and information for the available text fields.
Tip: If you rename an album to a name already used by an-
other album, the two albums will be reduced to one, after a
confirmation question.
7.2.3 Music archive
Click on the number 8 button in the main menu to call up the
music archives.
You should already have a few imported CDs in here. The
menu works in exactly the same fashion as the film archive.
You can therefore read up on the basic options and possibili-
ties in chapter 2.2 (Media Manager).
7.2.3.1 Importing music from a CD/DVD/USB/network
Clicking on Options and then on ‘2’ will take you to the Import
menu. First, you must indicate the source from which you want
to import.
If you choose the Disk medium, you will be asked to insert a
CD/DVD. This can be a regular audio CD/DVD as well as an
MP3-CD/DVD.
