and will be exported faster as a result.
If required, the system will also convert the audio format (PCM
<-> MP3) and the sample frequency. Once you have confirmed
the setting with OK and have close the data storage medium
window with OK, you will see (depending on your setting) at
the top border of the screen the projected usage of a CD in
minutes or the allocation of the data storage medium in per-
cent.
If you export your audio files in an MP3 format, an accompany-
ing m3u playlist (MP3 URL) can be saved as well.
This makes it possible to play the MP3 files in the order you
like.
Note: If you have activated ‘Normal audio CD’, point 1 of the
Options in the music archives, you will no longer be able to
change the setting for media/destination, it will remain on CD.
The settings menu will the be displayed in gray.
7.2.3.6 Burning music CD/DVD / Starting export
After you press the ‘DVD’ button, a new screen will show the
progress of the CD/DVD/USB export. An RW-DVD will be
deleted if you confirm. A successful burning process ejects
the disc tray and you can remove the finished disc. The tray is
ejected once finished and closes after one minute if you do not
manually close it yourself.
7.2.3.7 Renaming music
See chapter 7.2.2.5. regarding the video archive
7.2.3.8 Music archive options
The music archives have the following options: ‘7’ for start-
ing the ‘CD/DVD import in the background’ and ‘8’ to end the
import. If you start the background import, you can use the
options to determine your storage format for the music, just
like the CD import above. Confirm with OK and the system will
go on to wait for you to insert an audio CD to automatically
transfer to your music archive. In the meantime, you can use
all other functions of the system as long as they do not require
the optical drive. While you are playing film, music or photos
from the archives, the CD import will continue.
When the CD is fully loaded, it will be ejected and you can
insert a new one. In a short space of time, you can import a
large collection of CDs to your archive and will no longer need
to use the discs themselves.
When finished, simply switch the background import off again.
If you switch the system off, the import will also be cancelled.
All other options are just like the film archive. Please read
chapter 7.2.2.6 for more information.
7.2.3.9 Musical composition information
Press the Info button to show the extended information, re-
spective the track and album. You will find them in the ‘Help,
more functions’ menu.
CD, you should click the 9 button. When importing MP3 music,
the system will display the state of progress and a means of
aborting the process while it is importing the table of contents.
Note: While the audio data are being imported into the music
archives, you will, e.g., be able to play television, radio, movie
or music from the archives or use other DVC functions. Please
refer to Chapter 5.11 for this.
When all of the titles have been imported, or when the entire
CD has been imported, the tray will open and you will be able
remove the CD. The list in the ‘CD import’ menu will now be
empty and you will be able to return to the music archives in
which you will see that the titles that have just been imported
will be marked. Should the titles not be visible, please click on
the 3 button to change the title selection display.
7.2.3.2 Playing music
(see chapter 7.2.2.1) If you do not specifically stop playback of
a single track, play-back will continue for all remaining tracks
in the list. The music archive remembers the last playback
position and asks if you want to continue playback from there
next time.
7.2.3.3 Deleting music
(see Video archive, chapter 7.2.2.2)
7.2.3.4 Organizing music
In the music menu, instead of actors in alphabetical order, you
can sort according to artists in alphabetical order. More infor-
mation can be found in chapter 7.2.2.3.
7.2.3.5 Exporting/creating an audio CD
Click on Options and then on 1 to call up ‘Audio selection’. A
detailed description of this can be found in Chapter 2.2.4 of
the video archive section.
After clicking on Options, a selection window is opened in
which you will not only be able to set the format of the storage
medium of the title that is to be burned, but also create fold-
ers for artists and/or folders for albums. If you activate both
options, the top folder will be set up for the artist, the second
folder layer represents the albums. Please note that the folder
structure is first created on the burned CD/DVD and that all
titles are then entered into the selection list one by one. You
can also activate the option for adding the track number in
front of the track name. This is for creating an MP3 CD with
numbered tracks. Some players may require this to play the
music in the correct order. These numbers are not shown in
the title names and normally do not show up while they are
being played. Please not that the ID3 tags are changed when
MP3 files are exported. When you activate the ‘Make new
MP3’ Option, the exported MP3 samples will get an ID3 tag in
accordance with the data regarding this sample in the music
archives. Export will take a bit longer as a result. If this option
is not activated, the exported sample will not get an ID3 tag
