Bogart SE 5 User manual
Use ‘Network settings’ in the aA option to configure your de-
vice for use in a network.
With the first setting, you must specify how you want to use
your device in the network. Is your device connected through
a network cable to your network, of is it connected through a
wireless network (WLAN).
If you use your DVC device in a network, giving it a name may
give you some advantage. You can freely name your device in
the network settings menu.
In case of a cable connection, you have the ability to let your
DVC device automatically receive a network address via your
DHCP server. If you deactivate the automatic configuration ,
you have the ability to give your device a special, fixed network
address. In order to assign a fixed IP to your device, please go
to ‘IP configuration’. Use the 5 button to test the configuration
you set. You will be shown a result in the form of a screen text.
However, if you have a WLAN network, the WLAN stick must
be connected already when you select the network under point
1, because a test is performed here. If there is no stick con-
nected, is not found, or is not configured, the option ‘Wireless
network’ will be grayed out and there will be a message that
tells you that ‘the system does not have WLAN functionality’.
Your WLAN stick must be connected to your device, before
you open the network menu. If this wasn’t done, you should
close the menu, connect the WLAN stick and reopen the
menu. ‘WLAN configuration’ will then be active and you will be
able to open it. In WLAN configuration, you must enter infor-
mation about your WLAN connection.
Each wireless network can be assigned its own network name,
the so-called SSID (Service Set Identity) or ESSID (Extended
Service Set Identity). Only clients that know the name of the
network (SSID) can connect to it. As encryption, you should set
the one of your WLAN network. Typically, you would have its
key set in your router already. The key you enter here should
also be found in your router, and it is encryption password for
the encryption system.
If you have configured your WLAN, you should select this
under ‘1’ and then activate it.
are intended. This is not supported by all monitors, however.
Because of this, the option can also be switched off. Any DD
sound will then also be converted to HDMI (PCM) and played
via HDMI.
7.3.4 Device
Devices with an integrated graphics display (S-6000) have an
integrated brightness sensor. There is an option to set whether
the brightness of the display has to be controlled manually or
automatically via the sensor. For the manual setting, you will
be able to adjust the brightness control via the relevant menu.
If you do not have a graphics display, but a text display, you
will have the following options for the brightness setting.
You may independently change the brightness of the device’s
display for operating mode and standby mode. The device’s
display will indicate the current time when it is in standby
mode.
Use the ‘Standby: time + date’ option to also display the date
on the display.
The graphics display can also be used to display the status of
the device. This is e.g. the case for background activity or EPG
updates.
The graphics display can also show a graphic when the device
has been switched off. To do this, the brightness in standby
mode must of course be adapted. If you want to display a
graphic, you should activate the option. This will display the
images in the Front folder of the photo archives. Only one im-
age will be displayed for the duration of each standby. If there
are several images in the folder, one image will be chosen at
random.
You determine if and when power saving mode should be
activated. If your deactivate it completely (‘Never’), the device
is not powered down completely when you switch it off, but
the menus become dark. This has the advantage that the unit
starts up faster.
There is also a setting for the DVD drive, to reduce the running
noise. Direct DVD access is switched on by default. This way,
the DVD burner in the device will handle DVDs in the same
way as a commercial DVD player. With this setting, the device
should be able to play all media, even those with copy protec-
tion. Should you have a problem with a device, you should
switch off direct DVD access. The burner will then behave in
the same way as a software player, and be able to play many
DVDs that are not complying to the standard. As a rule, you
should not change the default setting.
